Mishawaka has launched the Shoe City USA project, celebrating its sneaker legacy with large sculptures of Red Ball Jets, which were produced by Ball-Band in the 1950s. The initiative, funded entirely through private donations exceeding $100,000, aims to honor the city's rich history in footwear. One sculpture is now displayed at Ironworks Plaza.
